Epilepsy Basics

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Epilepsy is a medical condition in which there are repetitions of post convulsive attacks. Epileptic diagnoses normally only occur after someone gets at least two convulsive attacks and no other illnesses or conditions are present.

Epileptic shocks occur in about 7 of every 1000 children under the age of 16, and in about 1 of every 200 adults. They often surface in newborns and children who have heart diseases. Epilepsy is a condition that may develop to people of all ages, but it usually presents itself in those under the age of twenty years.

Main causes of epilepsy include tumours in the brain, craniocereberal trauma, lack of blood supply at birth, meningitis, and hereditary factors. Children with epilepsy are often not encouraged to engage in physical activities such as sports. Treatments are being developed, however, to entirely prevent the progression of attacks, such that epileptic patients may attempt to conduct a normal way of life.

Making Spinal Adjustments

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

Chiropractors are medical professionals who try to realign joints, other bones, and vertebrae from the spine in situations that cause pains in the neck, back, and also headaches. Spinal adjustments is a way in which chiropractors assist the body in returning to so-called “normal” balance, which often leads to natural healing.

Chiropractic science is founded upon the idea that the nervous system is the control center of many of the functions within the body, including its tissues, organs, and cells. In cases where the spine or other skeletal feature is out of alignment, they will irritate the nervous system. Making adjustments allow for normal functions to resume within the nervous system.

One major benefit to chiropractics is that no narcotic drugs need to be used. It is considered to be a safe way to improve one’s quality of life by relieving pain.
